“My boyfriend is addicted to heroin. He’s in prison, but he’ll be out before long. I have to decide what to do then. He steals my things to pay for his habit. In the past he’s stolen the computer, the DVD player, the toaster, the camcorder, all my jewellery, anything he can get money for. I’m on benefits and get about a hundred and fifty pounds a week for me and my child, which means that when he steals things it’s hard for me to replace them.”
